If you ever get confused with the diagram remember:

CN 1,2,3,4 - Midbrain CN 5,6,7,8 - Pons CN 9,10,11,12 - Medulla

Since only one structure in the diagram is coming out of the medulla then it has be the vagus nerve

A = CN III

B = CN V

C = CN VI

D = CN VII

E = CN VIII

F = CN X

Inability to elevate the palate suggests damage of the vagus nerve.

A is oculomotor Theres 4 cranial nerves that are medial (3, 4, 6, 12) So C is abducens B is big fat one so trigeminal I think D is 8, and E is 9 so Vestibulocochlear and Glossopharyngeal I guess F is vagus....

For as much money as the NBME scams off of us they really do give you the most HEINOUS figures... if you've done NBME 18 there's a cell diagram that looks like the test writers toddler drew.
