AED-induced bone disease is a problem with long term therapy. Carbamazepine and phenobarbital both induce CYP450 and can cause vitamin D deficiency.

mmizell  There are tons of other drugs that also lead to vitamin D deficiency too but have different mechanisms (i.e valproic acid, which is a CYP inhibitor). Carbamazepine and phenobarbital do both induce CYP450 but they also induce another receptor that activates 24-hydroxylase, which breaks down the active form of vitamin D. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3427195/ +1
