This woman has mastitis. According to this article, staph species, like epidermidis and aureus are the most common pathogens cultured from mastitis. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28747897

This makes intuitive sense because staph is a normal part of skin flora and could easily be dragged into the nipple by a suckling infant.

Bacteroides fragilis is a colon commensal E. coli is a colon pathogen Hemophilus influenzae normally lives in the nose and throat Strep agalactiae lives in the female repro tract
