Changes that happen in aging:

Stays the same: TLC (very important to know this)

Increased: lung compliance, residual volume, V/Q mismatch, A-a gradient

Decreased: chest wall compliance, FVC, FEV1, respiratory muscle strength, ventilatory response to hypoxia/hypoxemia
