This is describing Langerhans cell histiocytosis (FA 2019 p. 426). This disorder presents in a child as lytic bone lesions and skin rash or recurrent otitis media with a mass involving the mastoid bone. Cells express S-100 (mesodermal origin) and CD1a. Birbeck granules (tennis rackets) are characteristic.
