Neutrophils initiate the respiratory burst. So why wouldn't cyclooxygenase be the answer since that creates LTB4 which is a chemotactic for neutrophils.

bobbybob  sorry about that... just realized LTB4 is on the other side of the arachidonic acid pathway and is stimulated by 5 lipoxygenase +1
