According to FA 2019, page 561

MECHANISM of atypical psychotics(including Risperidone) is Not completely understood. but Most are 5-HT2and D2 antagonists; Varied effects on ฮฑ and H1 receptors.

These SGAs Have lower binding affinity for D2 receptor than FGAs. so less Extra pyramidal S/E.
