pt has been getting exogenous thyroxine from friend--> will cause follicular atrophy because negative feedback will decrease the amount of endogenous production of thyroid hormone from gland= atrophy bc of decreased function.

meryen13  yes true, but the negative feedback is due to decreased TRH because of high T3,T4. +
fatboyslim  @meryem13, in addition, free T3/T4 will cause decreased sensitivity of the anterior pituitary to TRH (FA 2020 p331) +
