  • Steroid hormones commonly bind to intracellular receptors.

  • Most steroid hormones bind the receptor in the cytosol after which it moves to the nucleus word acts as a transcription factor at the level of the DNA.

  • 0ther similar hormones, like thyroid hormone, estrogen hormones, etc, find their receptor in the nucleus at which time it binds the DNA to exert its effects.
